Common myths about your hangover

We all know heavy drinking affects the central nervous system and is the main cause of feeling dizzy as well as nauseous. Moreover it sends you to the bathroom so often in order to make you feel dehydrated.
Lets crack a few a myths about hangovers...

*Hangovers are gender-blind*
A natural assumption would be that if man and woman drink the equal amount both are going to bear the effects equally! But no, you are wrong here. Men have higher percentage of water in their body, hence the alcohol gets diluted in man's body while in a woman's body the alcohol mixes with the bloodstream.



*Wine is a more sublime choice*
This is a general misconception. Wine is not one of the milder choices. The can be equally guilty in causing a hangover. The gentle choices are beer as well as vodka and gin.




*Atleast, Diet Cocktails are a safer choice*
Sorry my friend but again a big NO. Diet cocktails are helpful if you are cutting on your calories. Researchers have said that fruit juices or other sugar-containing liquids lead to much less a hangover.







*Eating Pasta before you go to bed*
Nah, eating anything before you go to bed and after you have had your rounds of alcohol is definitely of no help at all. Eating sufficiently before your happy hour is the only suggestion. So go before a piece of pizza before your first martini and avoid a hangover.

*Alcohol lets you sleep well*
Alcohol can lead you to sleep but then it drastically disrupts your sleep patterns. At times people wake up early or they tend to find it difficult sleeping the next day.




*Coffee can be a savior*
That would be a very bad idea. A lot of coffee leads to acute dehydration increasing the severity of a hangover. Instead after the hangover drink sports drink or some energy drink which can replace all the important electrolytes in the body.
